Biographical or Historical Data
  • Giornale in cinese fondato a Shanghai durante gli ultimi anni della dinastia Qing dalla giapponese East Asia Common Culture Association. Iniziò le pubblicazioni il 3 febbraio 1900, subentrando al quotidiano "Zi lin hu bao", che era originariamente edito dal North-China Daily News Office, di proprietà inglese, e sostituendone il supplemento "Xiao xian bao" con la nuova pubblicazione intitolata "Tong wen xiao xian bao". Il giornale proponeva ai lettori di lingua cinese una lettura influenzata dalla matrice filogiapponese della proprietà. Il presidente della East Asia Common Culture Association era allora Tachibana Kitsuji, che rappresentava la proprietà; Ichiro Sade era il direttore e Gao Taichi, studioso cinese, era il caporedattore, assistito dal vice-caporedattore Zhou Pinshan.
